Dr Peter Zafiropoulos

Dr Peter Zafiropoulos grew up in Altona North, within walking distance from Altona Gate Dental. He is proud to be a local boy and loves the Western Suburbs of Melbourne. He completed his Bachelor of Dental Science with Honours from the University of Melbourne in 1990 and opened Altona Gate Dental in 1996, achieving his dream of establishing his own dental practice in his home town. He has successfully completed hundreds of hours in several postgraduate courses in Orthodontics, Implant Dentistry, Crown and Bridge and Restorative Dentistry. Peter is also a member of the Australia Dental Association. He is a proud father of five children and yes, he constantly needs to remind them to brush their teeth on a daily basis! He has a wonderful ability at making children feel comfortable and at ease and educating them on the importance of caring for their teeth.

Emilie Rivet

Emilie graduated in 2020 with a Bachelor Degree in Oral Health Therapy, adult scope. She is very passionate about supporting her clients of all ages in improving and maintaining their dental health. She is crucial in the role of control and prevention of and gum disease and maintaining a healthy smile. Emilie also treats early to advanced cases of periodontal disease (gum disease) with non-surgical periodontal therapy (scaling and root planing). She is licensed to give local anaesthesia (injections) to make this procedure more comfortable if required. Her friendly, caring nature instantly makes her clients feel welcome and her extensive knowledge on Oral Hygiene Education is beneficial for all ages. Children love to see Emilie as she is very friendly and funny too. She supports Dr Peter with many aspects of orthodontics full all ages.

Lora Ziaka

Lora graduated with a Bachelor Degree in Oral Health Therapy in 2020. She is fluent in Greek, having originated from Greece. Lora has a gentle touch that is comforting to nervous patients who are normally afraid to visit the dentist and she soon has them comfortable and relaxed. She is very patient and understanding and explains treatment needs for oral health in a clear and easy to understand manner. She is proficient in the role of control and prevention of gum disease and maintaining a healthy mouth. She is licensed to give local anaesthesia (injections) if required. She will remove plaque and surface stains by gentle scraping, polishing and the use of  high-tech prophyflex power sprays (No, it won't hurt!). She supports Dr Peter with many aspects of orthodontics full all ages.
